85kg by 35: Getting Started (Part 1)

One of the reason I created this blog in the first place was to stick all my #85by35 tweets in it. As it turns out there isn’t many/any good plugins for WordPress that do this so it’s become like all my other blogs§ .. a ghost town, til now!

Anyway, I wanted to post about the progress with my new ‘get fit regime’ that I’ve called #85by35. Honestly, I didn’t except it to go the way it has and it’s a good thing it has!

I originally was typing this out as a single big post but got de-motivated half way through so now I’ll publish them in smaller chunks!

My goal is to get down to 85kg by my 35th birthday in early July.

I’ve been meaning to start getting fit for a good 6mths to a year. I make some half assed attempt at better eating, more exercise but never really did it properly.

In the Xmas sales I bought some new work pants, size 98R. I’ve been in this size for a good few years now but they’ve been a comfortable size. 3 weeks later they were already getting snug. One thing I hate — BUYING CLOTHES. Also, you know, getting fat and shit.

I noticed podge popping up in places I’ve never had it before, bit on my back, harder to suck in the stomach and getting womanly boobs. But the one that was the greatest inspiration, neck fat!

Getting Started

When I started, about 3-4 weeks ago, I weighed about 98kg, the heaviest I’ve ever been. I’ve been around the 95/96kg mark for 6-12mths I’d say fluctuating up or down a few KG here and there.

There are only two things I’ve done, kicked up my exercise and kicked out the foods.

I didn’t start with a diet, I didn’t start with a exercise plan. I did decide to start doing more exercise and start tracking my food intake with a food diary.
